Bhutan Discovering amazing distant countries we are getting some of the best experiences in our lives. Our program is a rare chance to see the mysterious mountain world of Bhutan, sparkling snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the local exotic culture while comfortably travelling through the country.
This route is a good addition to any tour of Nepal, Tibet or East India.

Day 1: Flight to Paro from Kathmandu at 09:55 am (scheduled flight “Druk Air» KB 203). Arrival in Paro at 11:10 am, meeting with a guide and driver in the airport, transfer to the «Olathang» hotel (or similar one). Accommodation and repose. Sightseeing: the amazing beauty of the landscapes near the ruins of the dzong (fortress of traditional architecture) of Drukgyel (XVII century), a huge deong of Paro, National Museum, Kyychu-Lhakhang – one of the oldest temples in the country (VII century). The first night in a wonderful Lama kingdom – almost real “Shangri-La”.

Day 2: Moving to Thimphu (about 2 hours). Accommodation at the «Wangchuk» hotel (or similar one). A short rest. Heading to explore the capital of Bhutan: the country’s largest memorial chorten Tashi Choe Dzong of the third king of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the school of folk arts and crafts, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, the central bank and the post office.

Day 3: Moving to Punakha (about 3 hours) through the Dochu-La pass (3150 m). Accommodation at the «Zangto Pelri» hotel standing 8 km to the south of the city on a hillside offering a good view of the valley.
A visit to the Punakha dzong, the second oldest dzong in the country.

Day 4: Departure (for a day) to the national park “Black Mountain”, a place of great beauty described as the most beautiful valley in the most beautiful country of the Himalayas. The journey lasts for 2.5 hours (60 km road part of which is a country road). The park covers an area of ​​Phobdzheh valley: it is the place of the annual winter migration of rare black-necked cranes (please note that the cranes fly back to Tibet in mid-February so that you will not be able to see them). Night in the village of Ganta at the entrance of the valley where the famous monastery of Nigmapa school of Mahayana Buddhism is located.

Day 5: Gangtey. Free time to enjoy the beauty of nature. Returning to Thimphu in the afternoon (about 4 hours on the way). A visit to the dzong of Vangdue Phodrang village on the way to Thimphu (on request). Accommodation at the hotel of chosen category. The car with a driver and guide will be at disposal until the evening.

Day 6: Free time in Thimphu in the morning. It is a good opportunity to buy local souvenirs. Transfer to Paro, the hotel «Olathang» (or similar one), accommodation and leisure. A trip to the monastery of Taktshang (on request): the famous “Tiger’s Nest” (duration: about 4 hours; you can simply drive to the foot of the mountain providing excellent views). Farewell night in an amazing Lama kingdom – almost real “Shangri-La”.

Day 7: Timely transfer to the airport. Departure from Paro at 07:30 am (flight KB-202). Arrival in Kathmandu at 08:20 am.

The price for the program is AZN 1100 per person.

Supplement for the high season in Bhutan (March-May and September-November): + AZN 300

Note: The cost of one night stay in Bhutan is fixed by the local government at the level of USD 220-250 per person. This amount includes accommodation in double rooms in the standard two- or three-star hotels, meals (full board), all transfers by individual passenger transport services, accompanying English speaking guide, all entrance fees to museums and monuments.
The high price is due to the government’s desire to limit the number of tourists traveling to the country and protect the culture and nature of Bhutan from the mass “invasion” of unorganized groups.

Displayed prices are valid for the travel of at least 3 persons. If the number of travelers is less than 3, there are so-called supplements for personalized services:

2 persons travelling – extra USD 50 per person per night;
1 person travelling – extra USD 60 person per night.

Optionally, there may be other additional payments:
• for single occupancy (USD 40 per night);
• accommodation in rooms of suite category (starting from USD 60 per person per night in a double room);
• accommodation in a five-star deluxe hotel of Amanakora (starting from USD 1290 for a single room per night, and from USD 1390 per double room per night);

«Amankora» hotels are present in the cities of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Gangtey. All of them – according to our clients – are “worth the money paid”.

The price includes:
• accommodation in double rooms in two- or three-star hotels;
• Meals – full board;
• All excursions with English-speaking guide (according to the program);
• All transfers during the tour by the individual passenger cars;
• All entrance fees to the museums and monuments.

The price does not include:
• Air flights Kathmandu – Paro – Kathmandu (staring from USD 2×295; economy class) or any other airfare;
• Medical insurance,
• Permission to visit Bhutan and Bhutanese entry tourist visa (USD 100);
• All personal expenses and all other expenses not specified in the program.
