General information about the resort of Baden-Baden
Baden-Baden is a small resort and a sanatorium town (with only 50 thousand inhabitants) with a world-famous name. It is known for its thermal sources containing potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium bromide, cesium chloride and other minerals.
Water coming from springs is used for the treatment and prevention of many diseases of the joints, respiratory system, and others. Today, 20 sources of the resort are actively used; the temperature ranges from 56 to 68,8°C. Source water comes from a depth of 1200-1800 m. The deeper the source is, the higher the temperature of the water is. The water from the springs is usable for bathing, drinking water treatment, swimming in the pool, inhalations, irrigation, etc.
The resort was founded by the Romans back to the III century BC and gained fame as an international health resort, thanks to two thermal baths, Friedrichsbad, and Caracalla, at the beginning of the IX century. The resort located in scenic Schwartzwald offers the following procedures: massage, underwater massage, Shiatsu, Fango baths (oxygen, carbon dioxide, air, thermal, pearl), therapeutic gymnastics etc.

Children under 7 years are not allowed to visit the Caracalla Thermae. Children aged from 1 ½ years can be left in a special kindergarten nearby the thermae. Only children over 14 years can enter the thermae!!! Note that children up to 16 years (14-16) should be accompanied by an adult.
