Day 1
Arriving in Barcelona. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time. Walking through the Gothic Quarter, the most ancient district of the city where the story of Barcelona has begun (I century BC) and Las Ramblas street: palaces, modernist cafés, Opera theater, central market Boqueria. Catalan-style dinner in the open-air museum “Spanish Village” * and the fascinating show of the Magic Fountain. Overnight.
Day 2
Breakfast. City tour of Barcelona with a visit to the Catalonia Square, Spanish Square, Montjuic hill, the Columbus Monument, the Port, Sagrada Familia, the Passeig de Gracia, Park Güell and the Eixample district. Free time. Overnight.
Day 3
Breakfast. Excursion to Montserrat – one of the most beautiful rock reserves in Catalonia where at 700 meters above the seal level the Benedictine monastery retains the miraculous statue of the “Black Madonna” – patroness of Catalonia. Return to the hotel. Free time.
Day 4
Breakfast. Excursion to the theater-museum of Salvador Dali*, the surrealist the artist, outstanding hoaxer who turned his hometown Figeros into the one of the most visited places in Spain. A halt in Gerona with a visit to the largest Catalonian Cathedral and well-preserved Jewish quarter. Free time. Transfer to the train station. Departure to Madrid by AVE evening express train (with tourist-class tickets). Arrival in Madrid. Transfer and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 5
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Madrid with a tour to the main attractions of the capital: Prado boulevards, Castellano and Rekoletas, Retiro park, the Debot temple, San Francisco Grande, Opera, Atocha station, the Royal Palace. Free time to visit the Prado Museum. A stroll through the old town: the Morera, Puerta del Sol, Major and de la Villa districts, Church of San Isidro and a visit to one of the best flamenco performances with the dinner.
Day 6
Breakfast. Excursion to the palace-monastery of El Escorial *, the tomb of the Spanish kings, and the Valley of the Fallen – magnificent ensemble in memory of soldiers who died during the Civil War, the burial place of General Franco. Free time. Overnight.
Day 7
Breakfast. Excursion of Toledos with a visit to the Cathedral *, the church of San Tome, Synagogue of Santa Maria Blanca and the most beautiful parts of the old center. Acquainting with local crafts (damascene, marzipan, armament forging). Free time after the return to Madrid. Overnight. For those returning to Barcelona – departure with evening train for EUR 70.00
Day 8
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
