The Albanian capital city of Tirana traces its history to a mosque, bakery and hamam founded by the Ottoman ruler Suleiman Pasha in the early XVII century. Over the 400 years have passed since the emphasized memorable moment during which Tirana managed to erect the buildings in pompous Turkish, graceful Italian and stodgy Soviet styles and fundamentally expand and turn into a modern city able to offer not only a lot of historical sights and monuments but also bustling nightlife, good restaurants and other cultural and hedonistic leisure. By the way, even depressing buildings of local regional and district committees consistently disguise in merry colors: red-orange stripes are commingling into pink and purple circles.

The most popular showplaces are located in the center of Tirana. They include Skanderbeg Square, Museum of Natural History, Ethem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower. The statue of Skanderbeg, Albanian national hero, rises in the center of the square. The mosque with its wonderful and exquisite interior is open to all visitors. In the museum you can get familiar with the history of the country: it has many artifacts from ancient times to modern communist period. Clock Tower is one of the oldest buildings of the city and a symbol of Tirana.
A beautiful example of ancient Albanian architecture is Petrella Castle whose history is linked with the name of Skanderbeg’s sister. The castle is more than 2000 years old! This is one of the best preserved castles in Albania.
The cost of the program is calculated individually depending on the date of arrival.
