Day 1 (Thursday):
Departure from Moscow to Vilnius from Belorussky railway station.
Day 2 (Friday):
Arrival at Vilnius railway station/ airport. Representative of the company will meet the tourists. Breakfast at the café in the old town.
Transfer to the hotel to leave the belongings and luggage. Check-in at the hotel is possible no earlier than 2 pm. A walking tour through the Old Town: the tour starts from the Cathedral Square (the tourists have to get their on their own), a favorite meeting place of citizens, at the monument to Gediminas and will proceed with a passage on the mountain funicular and a visit to the Gediminas Tower. You will be told the legends associated with the emergence of the city and will see one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe. You will see a unique ensemble of Gothic architecture (St. Anne and Bernardine Chruch), will pass through the ancient lanes of the city, take a walk through the Jewish quarter, will see the ancient Church of Good Friday in which Russian emperor Peter I baptized the grandfather of a A.S. Pushkin. Next, you will continue your tour on the Town Hall Square getting to the Holy Gates – the only preserved gate of the wall enclosing Vilnius in the XVI century. The stone chapel hosts the icon of St. Virgin Mary revered throughout the whole Christian world.
Right after the Vilnius tour: “Dzhyugas” cheese tasting (for surcharge); this sort of crusty cheese matures over 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 months. Leisure time.
7 pm – beer tasting (for surcharge). Undoubtedly, beer has been the most beloved Lithuanian drink since time immemorial. It has about 300 different species. The beer cellars are full of up to 50 varieties of Lithuanian beer, from fresh to pasteurized. During the tasting you can choose any of your desired varieties of beer. You will be offered traditional Lithuanian meals to the beer and also will be told the story of brewing in the country. Overnight at the hotel in Vilnius.
